Not one day goes by without me considering the efforts and the sacrifices made by so many in our Nation's past, the will of the Founding Father's, their vision, and what America is supposed to be. It's not just the 4th of July that brings these thoughts about, it's every day. It's on my way to work, it's on my way home. It's having dinner with my wife and kids. It's when I bed down for the night. I am so grateful to have been born and raised here, enjoying the freedoms that so many take for granted.

Perhaps this was instilled in me by my mother, God rest her soul. Perhaps it was the time period in which I grew up. All I know is, with all our flaws, and all of our problems, we are blessed to be living here, with more opportunity, more wealth, and more reward than any other country in the world. Say what you want about our government. Say what you want about each other. None of that changes what you see when you drive across this great land. A great land that could not exist without the key ingredient; Freedom.

God bless you, God bless all that serve, and God bless the United States of America. May you always be strong, may you always be free.

Dead Voters - Officials are Puzzled

No evidence of election fraud? You mean other than the ballots of dead people?

Oh, and this is one of my favorite lines in a news story, of all times:

Connecticut Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz is adamant that “actually no dead people voted.”

“I want to be very clear about that,” she said, explaining that while votes were cast and counted in the names of the dead, “there was no voter fraud at all in the state of Connecticut.”

Well, I feel better now that in fact there are no zombies in Connecticut that have lived up to their civic duty.

And in other news, Barrack Obama, having all but defeated democratic rival Hillary Clinton, said today that it is important that the dead "never be disenfranchised. It's our moral obligation to ensure suffrage of the dead. As easy as it is to ignore their plight, and their hardships, we must give them a place at the table and put an end to the oppression of the dead, much like has taken place in Connecticut."

The Marine squared his shoulders and said "No Lord, I guess I haven't because those of us who carry guns can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, and at times, my work was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, because the world is an awfully rough place. But, I never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep. Though I've worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got steep, I never passed a cry for help. And at times I shook with fear, and sometimes, God forgive me, I wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place among the people here, they never wanted me around except to calm their fears. If you have a place for me here Lord, it needn't be so grand, I've never expected or had much. But if you don't have a place for me Lord, I'll understand."

There was silence all around the throne where the saints had often trod as the Marine waited quietly for the judgement of his God.

You ever see the movie "The Day After Tomorrow?" There's a scene of an ice shelf falling into the sea, all very dramatic. If you've seen "An Inconvenient Truth," you saw that same scene in that movie as well.

The interesting part, IT WAS COMPUTER GENERATED.

It's More Than Just a Private Matter

When you hold a public office...

By now you've surely heard about New York Governor Eliot Spitzer (D) and his alleged solicitation of prostitutes. It's all over the radio, TV and the Internet. He has given a brief public statement which included the following:

Today, I want to briefly address a private matter. I have acted in a way that violated the obligations to my family and that violates my — or any — sense of right and wrong.

Private matter... I don't think so. This makes me nuts because I heard the political left spew that "private matter" bullshit throughout the Lewinski matter and it still keeps popping up today. (Unless of course it's a Republican in a sex scandal, but that's another topic.)

While for the most part, I am a firm believer in sex being a private matter. I'm all for don't ask don't tell. But when it comes to public officials, especially officials that hold executive positions such as a Governor or a President, I think the rules change. Let me explain why.

You hold the highest public position in the land. It is not a position one should take lightly. In fact, there are very few positions I can think of that are more serious. And for this reason; you have been entrusted by the American public to make decisions that can have a direct effect on their lives. In the case of a President, it could be decisions that have a direct effect on our National Security.

Think about this for a second. You ever watch Godfather Part II? Remember Senator Pat Geary of Nevada? He came into Michael Corleone's office and pretty much told him he didn't like him and he was going to milk the Corleone Family for the gaming license? Then later we see that same Senator in a whore house, crying and not knowing what happened to the dead hooker on the bed?

You think Senator Pat Geary actually killed that hooker? No. The Corleone family did. The Corleone family killed that hooker and pulled the Senators strings from that point forward. They killed the hooker to hold that over the Senators head in order to control him. To get what they wanted from him, the free gaming license.

Granted, that is a Hollywood movie, not based on any real situation, as far as we know. But my point is illustrated perfectly in that movie. When a public official, a man of considerable political power puts his private life in jeopardy with hookers or gambling or homosexuality, the business of the people is put in jeopardy.

Ask yourself this question: What would Bill Clinton have been willing to do to keep Monica a secret? What would Eliot Spitzer have been willing to do to keep this scandal quiet? What would Senator Larry Craig have been willing to do to make his bathroom escapades go away?

Now ask yourself, what if the Chinese knew about Monica Lewinsky? What if the mob knew about Governor Spitzers hookers? What if the cop in the bathroom was not a cop, but a homosexual political operative looking to sandbag Senator Craig?

That's why it matters people. That's why it's not "just about sex" or just "a private matter." These people have been entrusted with the power we give them. And when that power can fall into the hands of anyone other than the person we entrusted with it, we should all be very concerned about it.

I realize this seems like common sense to most of my readers, but as often as I hear this "it's a private matter" argument, the more it makes me absolutely nuts...

Temperature Monitors Report Widescale Global Cooling

The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C -- a value large enough to wipe out nearly all the warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year's time. For all four sources, it's the single fastest temperature change ever recorded, either up or down.

Could this be the start of a global cooling period? Perhaps another Ice Age? Ah, what the hell do I know? Could it be, maybe just maybe, that it's solar activity that is reeking havoc with global temperatures? That seems to make more sense to me than human activity. But again, who the hell knows. It's starting to remind of those reports that come out every year telling us eggs are bad for you, no they're good for you, no wait, they're bad for you.

ESPN: Fair and Balanced?

Apparently not...

So, you may or may not have heard about Dana Jacobson and her idiotic comments at a roast for ESPN Radio's Mike and Mike. You may or may not be aware, co-host Mike Golic played football at Notre Dame. And apparently during the roast,

Jacobson made an absolute fool of herself, swilling vodka from a Belvedere bottle, mumbling along and cursing like a sailor as Mike & Mike rested their heads in their hands in embarrassment."

Jacobson, a Bloomfield Hills native and Michigan grad, reportedly dropped F-bombs on roastee Mike Golic's alma mater, Notre Dame -- with football coach Charlie Weis in the crowd.

From what I heard on Ellis Cannon's Sports Line Pittsburgh, it was more along the lines of "F**k Notre Dame, F**k Touchdown Jesus, and F**k Jesus." Drunk or not, that's pretty bad.

She got a one week suspension from her show, "First Take" on ESPN which nobody watches anyway.

One can only imagine what would have happened if she had said "F**k Allah." But what if she had said "F**k Martin Luther King Jr.?"

Thinking about this, I have to wonder about Rush Limbaugh. Let's go back to 2003. You may recall another co-host at ESPN being fired, or "asked to resign" for these comments:

"I don't think he's been that good from the get-go. I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They're interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there's a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."

So, a known conservative male, states something that has some actual merit to it and gets fired. A woman says "F**k Jesus" and gets a weeks vacation?

Now, if you know me or are the least bit familiar with my postions on things, you'll know I'm not a particularly religious person. I am in 100% in support of the concept of freedom. I will question what people say, but I will fight to the death to defend their right to say it.

That being said, I think it's clear I am far more interested in Justice than I am in Jesus. But, if the level of offensiveness is going to have anything to do with Justice in our society, we need to actually level the playing field and apply the concept of Justice to it. There is no way in hell, mentioning the fact that Donovan McNabb is black is in any way comparable to saying "F**k Jesus." Yet Rush was fired and Dana was suspended for a week.

I'm not Jesus, but that is not Justice...

Son we live in a world that has ice and that ice has to be protected by men with power. Whos going to do it, you? You Rudy Guiliani? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weap for the corporations and you curse the environweenies. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That a corporations death, while tragic, saves lives. And my existance, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about Global Warming, you want me on the North Pole, you need me on the North pole.

We use words like Horror, Death, Famine. We use these words as the backbone of a political strategy spent scaring people. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to abide by a man that logs on and reads the internet which I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and give up your SUV. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a shovel and plant a tree.

Either way, I don't give a damn, if you think it's not getting hot!

Media myths about the Jena 6

A very interesting piece about Jena from a reporter that actually lives in Jena and is married to a teacher at Jena High School. Read this piece, LINK and you will be blown away by the difference in what you've heard form the Mainstream Media and the truth. For example:

Myth 1: The Whites-Only Tree. There has never been a "whites-only" tree at Jena High School. Students of all races sat underneath this tree. When a student asked during an assembly at the start of school last year if anyone could sit under the tree, it evoked laughter from everyone present – blacks and whites. As reported by students in the assembly, the question was asked to make a joke and to drag out the assembly and avoid class.

I don't know about you, but I got the distinct impression that it was a "whites only tree." Let's look at another:

Myth 7: The Schoolyard Fight. The event on Dec. 4, 2006 was consistently labeled a "schoolyard fight." But witnesses described something much more horrific. Several black students, including those now known as the Jena 6, barricaded an exit to the school's gym as they lay in wait for Justin Barker to exit. (It remains unclear why Mr. Barker was specifically targeted.)

You'll be shocked to learn of the truth especially in light of the protests and attention this story has gotten. It's very revealing that those on the left will do all they can to proclaim their victim hood and attempt to capitalize on it. And in my opinion, are doing more to divide black and white than they are doing to unite black and white.

Kucinich Claimed to See UFO

Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich claimed to have seen a UFO, according to actresss Shirley MacLaine in her new book, Sage-Ing While Age-Ing, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Apparently, Kucinich "had a close sighting over my home in Graham, Washington, when I lived there," the actress, a close Kucinich friend, wrote. "Dennis found his encounter extremely moving. The smell of roses drew him out to my balcony where, when he looked up, he saw a gigantic triangular craft, silent, and observing him. It hovered, soundless, for 10 minutes or so, and sped away with a speed he couldn't comprehend. He said he felt a connection in his heart and heard directions in his mind."

The Kucinich campaign did not return the newspaper's phone calls asking for comment. MacLaine's book goes on sale next month.

I guess the directions he heard told him to turn hard left...

Death of a Messenger

Don’t kill the messenger! You’ve heard that saying before and it has as much relevance today as in the past. Ages ago before the wondrous technologies for long distance communication were available; the means of sending messages between individuals over great distances fell to the responsibility of the humble messenger. The messenger, whether on foot or horseback would battle all assorted dangers, be it inclement weather, sickness, wolves, or rogue bandits to see his message delivered safely to its recipient. Unfortunately, surviving the successful delivery of a message was often the hardest part of the job. You see, sometimes people would become angry with a message that they did not wish to receive and the messenger was an easy outlet for this misguided anger.

Recently, I was an observer of a death of sorts of a fellow carrier of the conservative message of truth. A fellow radio associate and conservative columnist Chuck Armstrong, found himself at the end of the proverbial sword from his college newspaper publisher when his weekly opinion column contained comments about the violent aspects of the religion if Islam. Armstrong penned the column after researching the topic which included personal communications from well known scholar Robert Spencer. Not only was Armstrong’s column rejected but insinuations of racism were put forward. When Armstrong questioned the validity of rejecting an opinion piece on this topic, he was fired as a contributing columnist for the college newspaper.

Now you may be thinking that Chuck Armstrong was attending a liberal college where the conservative ideas and opinions are squelched as a matter of college policy, maybe at Berkley or the liberal breeding grounds of Columbia University, right? If you thought that was the case you would be way off. Would you be surprised if I said it was at Kansas State University? Yes that’s right, here in the heartland, the Bible belt, the place I like to call common sense central from the growing scourge of liberalism. Yes even here, to bring forth a message that asks people to think hard about a religion so relevant to current events in the nation doesn’t get you a debate, it gets you fired. I would leave it in the capable hands of the American people to read Armstrong’s article and make up their own minds if his message pains them because it’s off base, or if it only hurts because it’s painfully accurate?

Unfortunately, I believe that Armstrong was forced to taste the steal of the Kansas State University Collegian because he violated the laws of political correctness. Yes, political correctness, the mental neutering of this country that not only day by day clouds the division between right and wrong, but breaks the will to question anything for fear that some group or organization may be offended. Most often these groups are liberals. Options were all this college newspaper had in this case. They could have collected an opposing opinion piece to Armstrong’s and ran them on the same page. They could have printed any disclaimer of their choosing before the article. Now here is a novel idea, they could have ran the article and let the readers decide and hold the author accountable through the usage of (letters to the editor) which the newspaper has every week. In the end, the Kansas State University Collegian decided to pass on all these options and to liquidate Armstrong for delivering a message that does not meet the liberal standard of political correctness. That message has been heard loud and clear.
