Welcome to the section I like to call Deal With It.  With all the wining and complaining
I keep hearing from the left, my message to them will boil down to
"Deal With It."
Clinton: Iraq has abused its last chance  A little blast from the past to
further prove my point.

Last week, I wrote about how everyone, and I do mean every believed Saddam
possessed WMD.  With all the libs trying to re-write history, I felt obligated to point
out the truth.  Well, the GOP has followed suit with an all out blitz on the libs claiming
the President lied.  Finally, it seems they're fighting back.  And isn't it sad the
administration has to waste time fighting the Democrats when we still have real
enemies to focus on.

The article linked above is from December 16th, 1998.  I encourage you to read that
article in full because it's very interesting to see the mindset of the Clinton
administration in regards to Saddam and WMD.  Snippet: "Saddam (Hussein) must
not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas
or biological weapons," Clinton said.

If that article isn't enough to convince you that Clinton administration knew Saddam
had WMD, click the picture below and see video of an entire group of democrats
making the case for war.  Then ask yourself a question:  If the President was lying,
were these democrats lying as well?  I think not.
Madeleine Albright, Bill Clinton, Howard
Dean, Sandy Berger, Nancy Pelosi, Jay
Rockefeller, Joe Biden, Harry Reid, John
Edwards, Evan Bayh, and yes even Hillary
herself all making the argument that
Saddam undoubtedly possesses WMD
and must be dealt with.

Watch the video, it is amazing to see
democrats  make a very convincing
argument, for once.
ONE GERMAN WHO GETS IT

Matthias Dapfner, Chief Executive of the huge German publisher Axel Springer AG,
has written a blistering attack in DIE WELT, Germany's largest daily newspaper,
against the timid reaction of Europe in the face of the Islamic threat.

EUROPE - THY NAME IS COWARDICE (Commentary by Mathias Dapfner CEO, Axel
Springer, AG)

A few days ago Henry Broder wrote in Welt am Sonntag, "Europe - your family name
is appeasement." It's a phrase you can't get out of your head because it's so terribly
true.

Appeasement cost millions of Jews and non-Jews their lives as England and France,
allies at the time, negotiated and hesitated too long before they noticed that Hitler
had to be fought, not bound to toothless agreements.

Appeasement legitimized and stabilized Communism in the Soviet Union, then East
Germany, then all the rest of Eastern Europe where for decades, inhuman,
suppressive, murderous governments were glorified as the ideologically correct
alternative to all other possibilities.

Appeasement crippled Europe when genocide ran rampant in Kosovo, and even
though we had absolute proof of ongoing mass-murder, we Europeans debated and
debated and debated, and were still debating when finally the Americans had to
come from halfway around the world, into Europe yet again, and do our work for us.

Rather than protecting democracy in the Middle East, European appeasement,
camouflaged behind the fuzzy word "equidistance," now countenances suicide
bombings in Israel by fundamentalist Palestinians.

Appeasement generates a mentality that allows Europe to ignore nearly 500,000
victims of Saddam's torture and murder machinery and, motivated by the
self-righteousness of the peace-movement, has the gall to issue bad grades to
George Bush... even as it is uncovered that the loudest critics of the American action
in Iraq made illicit billions, no, TENS of billions, in the corrupt U.N. Oil-for-Food
program.

And now we are faced with a particularly grotesque form of appeasement... How is
Germany reacting to the escalating violence by Islamic fundamentalists in Holland and
elsewhere? By suggesting that we really should have a
"Muslim Holiday" in Germany.

I wish I were joking, but I am not. A substantial fraction of our (German) Government,
and if the polls are to be believed, the German people, actually believe that creating
an Official State "Muslim Holiday" will somehow spare us from the wrath of the
fanatical Islamists.

One cannot help but recall Britain's Neville Chamberlain waving the laughable treaty
signed by Adolf Hitler, and declaring European "Peace in our time".

What else has to happen before the European public and its political leadership get
it? There is a sort of crusade underway, an especially perfidious crusade consisting of
systematic attacks by fanatic Muslims, focused on civilians, directed against our free,
open Western societies, and intent upon Western Civilization's utter destruction.

It is a conflict that will most likely last longer than any of the great military conflicts of
the last century - a conflict conducted by an enemy that cannot be tamed by
"tolerance" and "accommodation" but is actually spurred on by such gestures, which
have proven to be, and will always be taken by the Islamists for signs of weakness.

Only two recent American Presidents had the courage needed for anti-appeasement:
Reagan and Bush.

His American critics may quibble over the details, but we Europeans know the truth.
We saw it first hand: Ronald Reagan ended the Cold War, freeing half of the German
people from nearly 50 years of terror and virtual slavery.

And Bush, supported only by the Social Democrat Blair, acting on moral conviction,
recognized the danger in the Islamic War against democracy. His place in history will
have to be evaluated after a number of years have passed.

In the meantime, Europe sits back with charismatic self-confidence in the multicultural
corner, instead of defending liberal society's values and being an attractive center of
power on the same playing field as the true great powers, America and China.

On the contrary - we Europeans present ourselves, in contrast to those "arrogant
Americans", as the World Champions of "tolerance", which even (Germany's Interior
Minister) Otto Schily justifiably criticizes. Why? Because we're so moral? I fear it's
more because we're so materialistic, so devoid of a moral compass.

For his policies, Bush risks the fall of the dollar, huge amounts of additional national
debt, and a massive and persistent burden on the American economy - because
unlike almost all of Europe, Bush realizes what is at stake - literally everything.

While we criticize the "capitalistic robber barons" of America because they seem too
sure of their priorities, we timidly defend our Social Welfare systems. Stay out of it! It
could get expensive! We'd rather discuss reducing our 35-hour workweek or our
dental coverage, or our 4 weeks of paid vacation... Or listen to TV pastors preach
about the need to "reach out to terrorists. To understand and forgive".

These days, Europe reminds me of an old woman who, with shaking hands, frantically
hides her last pieces of jewelry when she notices a robber breaking into a neighbor's
house.

Appeasement? Europe, thy name is Cowardice.

-Thank you Matthias for stating that so well and for giving us Americans some faith in
that not all Europeans are big weenies.

Clarification on the Geneva Convention Definition of Prisoner of War
By Cary Gossett

To clarify exactly what the Geneva Convention states in regards to Prisoners of War,
the text below is from the Geneva Convention and defines who are to be considered
prisoners of war and there by protected by the Geneva Convention.  The ACLU and
the Liberals in this country would have you believe that members of Al-Qaeda and
terrorist groups in Iraq are entitled to Geneva Convention protections.  They have
actually taken the position of defending terrorists.  No wonder they can't win.
Utilizing the Geneva Convention itself, I will demonstrate as to why it does not apply
to terrorists.

PART I

GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 4

A. Prisoners of war, in the sense of the present Convention, are persons belonging
to one of the following categories, who have fallen into the power of the enemy:

1. Members of the armed forces of a Party to the conflict as well as members of
militias or volunteer corps forming part of such armed forces.

-Terrorists can in no way be considered members of "the armed forces of a Party to
the conflict" because there is no state being represented by the terrorists.  Terrorists
in this conflict come from Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and in
some cases, even the U.S.  They do not represent a single party in the conflict.

2. Members of other militias and members of other volunteer corps, including those of
organized resistance movements, belonging to a Party to the conflict and operating
in or outside their own territory, even if this territory is occupied, provided that such
militias or volunteer corps, including such organized resistance movements, fulfill the
following conditions:

(a) That of being commanded by a person responsible for his subordinates;

-There is clearly no chain of command in these independent cells of terrorists.  There
is no commander responsible for subordinates.  Some may be loyal to bin Laden, but
they act independent from him.

(b) That of having a fixed distinctive sign recognizable at a distance;

-They have no standard, no insignia, no rank structure, or nothing that designates
them as a member of a militia or military service.  They attack and fight in civilian
clothes and cannot be distinguished from civilians.

(c) That of carrying arms openly;

-Hiding a bomb under a jacket clearly does not qualify as carrying arms openly.

(d) That of conducting their operations in accordance with the laws and customs of
war.

-I cannot  think of a single reported terrorist act that meets this criteria.  A pregnant
woman delivering a bomb doesn't even comply with the laws of nature much less
"the laws and customs of war."

What I've tried to do here is show you the facts of the Geneva Convention and why
they do not apply in this war on terror.  In a perfect war, the Geneva Convention
would apply and our enemy would not send their children into pizza parlors with
bombs.  However, we all know this is a different type of war with a ruthless enemy
who doesn't just attack members of our armed forces, but our civilians as well.  In
fact, they prefer to attack our civilians as so demonstrated on September 11th, 2001.
So before you start believing the lies of the ACLU and the left in this country,
remember what you've read here.  Remember that our enemy plays this game
without conscience or remorse.  They'll hide in a mosque or a hospital and will attack
and kill anyone they believe to be the infidel.  They don't distinguish between soldier
or civilian.  They want us all dead.
Bush Victory Creates New Mental Disorder?
By Cary Gossett

I knew it would be a matter of time before someone would blame the President for
their problems.  It seems to me, we are quickly becoming a society that likes to blame
others for every little problem in our lives.  And because of the Democratic and
borderline Socialist left’s mentality in our great country, more and more people are
blaming the government for their problems.  Allow me to explain.

Socialists believe that government is the end all be all of a society.  The government
should control industry, the economy, as well as individuals.  This is clearly not the
basis in which this country was founded.  The idea of Socialism creates a dependency
on the government thus assuring those in power, stay in power.  The problem is
once you abdicate your own responsibility for your life and place that responsibility
with the government, personal accountability goes right out the window.  And if
things go wrong in your life, whose fault is it?  In these circumstances, it would have
to be the government’s fault.  Keep this in mind.

In a recent edition of the
Boca News, there was a story describing one of the newest
Mental Disorders, Post Election Selection Trauma, or PEST.  People in South Florida
are seeking psychological help in dealing with results of the recent Presidential
election where President Bush defeated Senator John Kerry.  Some of the symptoms
of the disorder include feelings of isolation, emotional anger and bitterness, loss of
appetite, nightmares, excessive worry about the direction of the country.

Ok, I understand there are real mental health issues.  People get depressed, people
suffer from anxiety, and they are very real and serious conditions.  But it seems to
me that if you are having nightmares about the President and you are excessively
worried about the direction of the country, then perhaps you have something very
serious going on, such as depression, or anxiety.  And perhaps this dependency on
the government has found its way into the minds of depressed people and is now
being labeled as PEST.

We as republicans are consistently being accused of not being compassionate.  The
truth is not that we are not compassionate; it is that we view the purpose of
compassion differently.  Liberals believe the best way to feed a hungry person is to
give them food.  We on the other hand believe to the best way to feed a hungry
person is to teach them how to get their own food.  It’s quite fundamental really.  If
you just give the person food that creates dependency on you, thus ensuring you
stay in power.  If you give the person the tools to get their own food, they no longer
need you or anyone but themselves.  That idea produces a self reliant individual.  A
self reliant person is person that will never lack in self esteem.  And let me tell you, a
huge part of depression is a lack of self esteem.

The fact is, the best way to gain self esteem to fend for yourself.  When you take
care of yourself, when you get things done yourself, you create a since of
accomplishment which is directly related to self esteem.  Think about how proud you
were when you bought your first car without daddy’s help.  Think about the first
promotion you got.  Think about the first time you bought a home.  You did all those
things on your own and it created a tremendous feeling of pride and joy, which in
turn creates self esteem.  If the government provides your job, your transportation,
and your housing, what do you have to be proud of?   It is this philosophical
difference that makes all the difference.

If you look at the
Election map by county, you can see where the democrats (blue
counties) have their voter base.  They clearly own the large cities in this country.
Look at Pennsylvania for example.  The Blue counties are in and around Pittsburgh
and Philadelphia.  The rest of the state’s counties were won by President Bush.  And
it is a known fact that in the large cities of this country is where the majority of
dependency upon the government exists in programs such as Welfare.  The people in
the more rural parts of the country, where government has little to do with their lives
all voted for President Bush.  This is what has the Democrats seeing red.  It’s not a
God thing, it is a philosophy thing.  The blue counties exist where people want and
need the government.  The red counties exist where the people want little to do with
the government.

So, what is the solution?  Or should I say, what is the cure?  We as a society need to
rid ourselves of this dependency on the government.  Let the government build our
roads, protect our borders and enforce our laws.  Let’s get the government out of
our everyday lives and return to a time where individual freedom and responsibility
drove this country to its greatness.  It is a fundamental change that needs to take
place.  We need to change the way people see the government.  If these people in
Florida and probably other parts of the country are truly this upset over who won a
Presidential election, then it would seem to me that the government plays too large a
roll in their life.  So it would seem to me that if we eliminate governmental
involvement in our everyday lives, we eliminate the route cause of PEST.

Can you see the irony here?  The liberals, who suffer from PEST, suffer from PEST
because of their dependency on government.  Their dependency on government was
created by liberals, who want them to be dependent on the government.  They have
in essence voted for their own disorder.  This proves that “liberalism only generates
the exact opposite of its stated intent.”  Liberalism claims to help people when in
fact, it is hurting them.
Ban them all, Artest and the Fans
By Cary Gossett
By now, you must have heard about the Pacers/Pistons brawl that occurred in Detroit
where Indiana’s Ron Artest ran into the stands and attacked a spectator.  This was
after he was hit with a cup thrown from the stands.  Now, I could not claim to be as
opinionated as I do without weighing in on this.

Being from the great state of Indiana, of course I’m a Pacers fan.  Going back to the
days of George McGuinnes, Billy Keller, and Darnell Hellman, I’ve always cheered for
the blue and gold.  And how could you not like Reggie Miller and his consistent trash
talk with New York Knicks  fan Spike Lee.  In all those years, I have never been
ashamed of being a Pacers fan until this week.  But trash talking is one thing,
physically attacking a spectator is something entirely different.

There has been all sort of analysis taking place.  It’s is the players fault, it’s the fans
fault.  I think any reasonable person who has seen the video can easily say it is the
fault of both fans and players.  If the fan hadn’t thrown the cup, perhaps Ron Artest
wouldn’t have charged into the stands.  However, if Artest’s temperament was more
controlled, perhaps the brawl would have been avoided.

That being said, I think Ron Artest should be banned from basketball for life.  That’s
right, for life.  Lets look at the Pete Rose situation.  He bet on baseball, not a felony,
and he is banned from baseball for life.  He can’t even get into the Hall of Fame.  One
of the greatest baseball players of all time, banned for life.  I’m no Pete Rose fan, I
think he got what he deserved.  And he never attacked a spectator at a baseball
game.

Ron Artest physically attacked several people at a game in which he was playing.
This was not on the street, off the job.  He was in uniform and on the job.  If I
attacked several people in my place of employment, do you think I’d be suspended
for a year?  I’d be banned for life.  I don’t need a judge and jury to tell me he’s
guilty.  He is a menace to the game of basketball, professional sports, our society in
general.

As much as he is a menace, so are these idiots in Detroit who think its okay to throw
things at players of a game.  I think the people in the stands that threw items should
be banned from professional sports as well.  I understand enforcing that ban would
be a logistical nightmare.  Perhaps we need a “bad spectator watch list” similar to
the terrorist watch list.  Bag and tag these idiots and don’t let them in the door.
Besides, how stupid do you have to be to square off with a professional athlete?  I
propose a nation wide ban on stupidity.

This is the deal people.  We all had better start getting a grip on our lives, our
outbursts and our behavior.  There needs to be some sort of accountability for our
actions.  I am so sick of hearing excuses for bad behavior.  Be it a rough childhood or
an addiction, or a genetic predisposition for violence, everything in life boils down to
a choice.  Those fans chose to throw their beverages and Artest chose to attack
spectators.  The notion of “He made me do it” has become a frontline defense for bad
behavior.  And that is just an excuse for people to deny their part.  And to make
things worse, it is perpetuated by slimy defense lawyers and sympathetic juries.  We
had better get on the stick and stop rewarding thugs, thieves and felons with big
money contracts and free passes on violence.  And we start by holding Ron Artest
accountable, as well as those idiot fans.
