The Rivalry is Back!

It's back baby, it's back!

So, last week, for the game against the Saints, my son and I managed to fall into some tickets and we went to the game. This was especially cool for me because my cousing Nate Lawrie plays Tight End for the Saints. He was injured and didn't get to play in the game, luckily for me and my son. If he would have had a catch, we would have instictively cheered for him and probably gotten beat up. Anyway, this was our First Steelers game in Pittsburgh and it was an exciting game. The Steelers as you know came from behind to beat the Saints 38-31 and Willie Parker had a career game rushing for 213 yards and 2 TDs. Very exciting indeed.

That being said, this game today was one of the most exciting Steelers games I've seen. For so many years, the rivalry between the Browns and the Steelers had lost its luster. You can't really have a rivalry when one side dominates the series for years. But this game today had the feel of the old rivalry of the original Browns and our beloved Steelers. There was attitude and trash talk. There were great hits and great plays from boths sides of the field. Everything we expect from two teams that really do hate each other.

I don't know about you, but that game wore me out. I am so tired after this game from jumping up and down and yelling at the TV, I feel like I had played in the game. Knowing our backs are against the wall, and trying to preserve any hope of a post season, we had to win this game. The Steelers played horrible in the first half but rallied in the second to win and damn near give me a heart attack.

Thanks for a great game, but next week, let's dominate the entire game instead of just the second half because my heart can't take another game like this one.
