Newt Says 'This is World War Three'

And we need to listen to him...

OK, back in the 90's, I was a huge Newt Gingrich supporter. I read his book, "To Renew America" and I was convinced this is not only one of the smartest political minds of our time, but someone that has the right ideas to move the country forward. A few years later, his personal failures really ticked me off and I was off the Newt bandwagon. But I gotta tell you, he is still one of the smartest political minds and as far as conservatism goes, he has the answers. I'm not willing to endorse him for President at this point as speculation of a Newt campaign is growing, but I will listen when he speaks. And he has spoken.

From NewsMax.com, "World War III has begun, and the nation’s leadership is failing to deal with this reality."

Our leadership is failing us? I'm shocked...

This is where politics really pisses me off. If you ask me, it's practically 1938 all over again. There is real evil in this world and it is alive and well. And so many of us keep sticking our heads back into the sand hoping the problem will just go away. And we're sticking our head in the sand because war is inevitably unpopular. So many of our leaders in Congress do not want to face the cold hard reality that we are dealing with an enemy that wants to destroy America. They want to keep their heads in the sand, have talks with these people and find a solution to our differences. The difference thatseparatee us prevent their side from finding common ground. Their religious beliefs forbid it. Why can't we see that?

According to Newt:

Gingrich explained that "today is not the fifth day of the war, it's the 58th year of the effort by those who want to destroy Israel. As Ahmadinejad, the head of Iran, says, he wants to defeat the Americans and eliminate Israel from the face of the earth. So we should not see this event in isolation. There is an . . . Iran/Syria, Hezbollah and Hamas alliance trying to destroy Israel."

"The Israelis withdrew from Gaza to create the circumstance of peace. The Israelis withdrew from south Lebanon to create the circumstance of peace," Gingrich continued. "They now have a thousand missiles fired from Gaza, they've had hundreds of missiles fired from south Lebanon. You clearly have Iranian involvement. There are at least 400 Iranian guards in south Lebanon. Apparently it was an Iranian missile fired by Iranians which hit an Israeli warship yesterday. The United States should be saying to Syria and Iran, 'South Lebanon is going to be cleared out. We are for Israel and the Lebanese government breaking the back of Hezbollah, getting rid of all 10,000 to 13,000 missiles, and we will decisively stop any effort by Syria and Iran to intervene.'"

You need to read the entire article, but I want to make sure you read this part. Gingrich said:

"I believe if you take all the countries I just listed, that you've been covering, put them on a map, look at all the different connectivity, you'd have to say to yourself this is, in fact, World War III."

Iranian Hezbollah has stated they welcome war with the United States. I say, we give them what they want. I say bomb the shit out of them and get it over with. The longer we wait, the more we attempt to appease, the stronger they grow. I'm sure, in 1938, some were saying we should take out Hitler. Too bad the world didn't know then what we know now. Appeasing people that want you dead serves no purpose. It only makes you appear weak. And weakness in the eyes of your enemy only serves as motivation for your enemy. We stand strong, we win. It's that simple.

Good rant there Goose. I hope "rant" is an okay description. I had only heard bits and pieces of what Newt had to say. It sounds right on now that I've read more.

I have a blog for you to visit. You may have already. It's http://israelibunker.blogspot.com/

This was a good post, so I may borrow it. You know how I am about good posts. I steal them.
