Paintballs to the Wall
And to my legs, and my chest, and my back, and to my gut...
So, how was your Memorial Day weekend? Mine was great. On Friday, I traveled to my hometown of Columbus Indiana, and met up with some old friends. We headed out to the Valley Branch Retreat in Brown county for our annual paintball outing. This is where we all get together, divide into a couple of teams and proceed to shoot the hell out of each other with paintball guns. Of course, we had one or two adult beverages to kill the ensuing pain.
Wesley, lead guitarist for The Rubberband, cooked meat with fire, Fire Good! Some of the boys played poker into the early morning. Some of us sat buy the fire with the guitar and our pathetic voices singing everything from Jimmy Buffet's "Margaritaville" to Johnny Cash's "I Walk the Line" to Sublime's "What I Got." If you haven't played paintball, then you need to. Yes, it's painful to get shot, but the pain is temporary. The Glory, is forever!

Yes Thirdee, we are men. We do battle, cook meat with fire, and laugh about our wounds. It's good to be a man.
Men are great...Thank God I don't have to go through life with just women. (Shivers.)
