Another Reason I Despise Liberals
One of many more to come, I'm sure...
You may have heard about the incident last Wednesday involving Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney. Apparently, she walked around the metal detector while entering the Capitol and after being asked three times to stop, a Capitol Police Officer put his hand on her shoulder and allegedly she reacted by striking him in the chest with a cell phone clutched in her hand.
Now, I'm the first to admit that things happen. There are misunderstandings and unfortunate incidents all the time. I was a bouncer in a bar for five years and I can tell you I understand how things can get out of hand in a hurry. The thing is though, we're not talking about a bar. We're talking about the United States Capitol where security has to be of the upmost importance.
In the first day or so after the incident, Congresswoman McKinney seemed almost apologetic and somewhat embarrassed by the incident. In a statement released late Wednesday night:
"I was urgently trying to get to an important meeting on time to fulfill my obligations to my constituents. Unfortunately, the police officer did not recognize me as a member of Congress and a confrontation ensued. I did not have on my congressional pin but showed the police officer my congressional ID. I know that Capitol Hill Police are securing our safety, that of thousands of others, and I appreciate the work that they do. I deeply regret that the incident occurred."
She seems appologetic to me in that statement. She didn't actually apologize, but she does express regret and that's reasonable.
But then on Thursday, the Democrats get involved and you start to see a shift in position. Democratic House Minority Leader, Nancy Palosi labled it:
"A mistake, an unfortunate lack of recognition of a member of Congress."
She added that the police officer was not at fault. But apparently, it's not Cynthia McKinney's fault either. It's a lack of recognition that is to blame for this. OK, for me, that's a bit of a stretch, but not a completely whacked out moonbat position.
But now, the full power of the "Equal Rights" crowd is envolved and the moonbat positions are being put forth. Ms. McKinney's lawyer James W. Myart Jr. said she is:
"just a victim of being in Congress while black."
She's a victim? This is yet another demonstration of how to be a liberal, you must see the world upside down and back to front. SHE PUNCHED HIM! But she's the victim... OK, that makes sense. Her idiot lawyer continued:
"Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, like thousands of average Americans across this country, is, too, a victim of the excessive use of force by law enforcement officials because of how she looks and the color of her skin."
Excessive use of force? Really? He is responsible for the security of this freaking lunatic Congresswoman and he was doing his job. He asked her to stop THREE TIMES and she did not so he PUT HIS HAND ON HER SHOULDER! And that is an excessive use of force? Evidently this lawyer needs a lesson on exactly what is excessive force.
And guess what, this freaking idiot lawyer plans to file charges of "excessive use of force" according to a Fox News story, McKinney Decries 'Inappropriate Touching' by Capitol Police.
Misdirect blame and accuse the innocent of wrong doing, the state of the Civil Rights movement of today. Inappropriate touching... Give me a break. What a bunch of freaking cry-babies.
At a press conference held at Howard University, where actor Danny Glover and idiot Harry Belefonte stood by her side to "show support" Belefonte said:
"In America and Washington, D.C., issues of race have always been at play and have often been central to justice miscarried. ... We're here to be sure that this process is handled fairly and it is not rooted in a familiar racist behavior, that the outcome of this is going to be done on a very fair and a very square basis."
Racist behavior? She struck a white police officer after refusing to obey his request! If anyone is a racist in this incident, I submit to you that it's Cynthia McKinney. This woman has accused the Bush Administration of knowing about 9/11 ahead of time. An assertion that cost her the House seat in 2002. She got re-elected to Congress after the man that beat her in 2002 gave up his House seat to run for the Senate. She's a moonbat whack job with no business representing anyone in the United States Congress.
She wasn't wearing her Congressional Members lapel pin, which I've read she has refused to do in the past. She walked around the metal detector, which I understand is a customary for members of Congress, but certainly not required of members of Congress. And most importantly, SHE PUNCHED HIM after refusing to stop when she was asked to. She completely over reacted and is now claiming excessive force. Again, the state of the Civil Rights movement, lie, misdirect, scream racism. How pathetic.
Bottom line here, yes it was a misunderstanding. The Security guard didn't recognize her and did his job. She completely over-reacted and struck a police officer. And now, this police officer that was DOING HIS JOB is about to feel the full wrath of what the Civil Rights movement has become, a bunch of candy asses that want to cry racism and excessive use of force, even when they are the ones at fault. Dr. King must be very proud...
